Erika Rios Hickle (born 1985, San Diego, CA) is an artist based in Los Angeles, CA. Rios Hickle’s practice spans painting, textile, photography, and installation, and explores themes of mythologies, spiritualism, and the body. Her work examines self portraiture and the quotidian as well as mythic archetypes ranging from saints, vampires, and the likes, to further explore the feminine. Most recently, she has exhibited a two part solo exhibition, spanning between two locations, Duplex, NYC and Apartment 13, Providence, mimicking sites of pilgrimage in which images of the artist’s and Saint’s disjointed body parts transform into holy relics.

She has shown at Bureau, Catbox Contemporary, American Medium, 321 Gallery, Kimberly Klark and Geary in New York; Resort in Baltimore, DarkZone in NJ and Fall River Contemporary Museum of Art, MA. She received her BFA from California State University, Long Beach in 2008 and her MFA from Rutgers University in 2012. She is currently a Part-Time Lecturer at California State University, Long Beach.
